Highlight and notate books and PDFs in iBooks for iPhone and iPad

The iBooks store has a numerous textbooks and informational materials. Whether you are studying for an exam or just learning something new, iBooks gives you the ability to highlight and notate contents for you to refer back later. Not sure how? Follow the written steps below.

How to highlight contents in iBooks for iPhone and iPad

1. Launch iBooks from your home screen.
2. Select the book you’d like to highlight or notate.

3. Find a paragraph or a sentence you’d like to highlight. Then, hold down to it and drag the anchors so that the paragraph or the sentence you want to highlight is within it

4. Then, tap on highlight. Once you’ve done that, a pop-up menu will appear giving you a chance to change highlight colours.

5. That is it. When you are done just tap anywhere to continue reading.

How to notate contents in iBooks for iPhone and iPad

1. Launch iBooks from your home screen.
2. Tap into the book you’d like something to notate in.

3. Find a paragraph or a sentence that you’d like to notate.  Then, hold down to it and drag the anchors so that the paragraph or the sentence you want to notate is within it

4. Tap on the right arrow to bring more options.

5. Tap on note and type out your note. When you are done, tap Done

How to access highlights and notes in iBooks for iPhone and iPad

1. Launch iBooks from your home screen
2. Tap on the book you’d like to view highlights and notes.

3. Tap on the contents icon in the upper menu – next to the ‘Library’ button

4. Here you can see your highlights, bookmarks and notes in that particular book.
